Board of Directors

The AYPN Board of Directors (BOD) consists of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, and the director of each committee. Each member of the Board is elected by AYPN members during the annual election meeting held in February. Office terms are for one year, beginning and ending in March. In addition to coordinating the efforts of their committee, directors also commit to attending at least one AYPN Board Meeting each month. Please feel free to contact any Board member with questions, concerns, or ideas regarding AYPN.

President
Buckley O'Mell - bomell@aypn.org

Originally from Marianna, Arkansas, Buckley attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he earned a B.S.B.A. from the Walton College of Business. He served as president and recruitment chairman of his fraternity, and now sits on the fraternity’s alumni board. After graduation, Buckley attended the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville. In his third year there, he served as president of the law school student body, also known as the Student Bar Association. After graduating from law school, Buckley moved to Little Rock where he now works in commercial real estate brokerage and development at Flake & Kelley Commercial.

Angela is from Magnolia, AR. She attended Southern Arkansas University where she obtained a B.A. degree in Mass Communication emphasis in Broadcasting Journalism and received numerous leadership awards. Angela began working towards obtaining a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management. She has also held leadership positions with her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She is also an active member of the Young Black Professionals of Arkansas and the Arkansas Democratic Black Caucus. She is currently the Compliance Coordinator for the Democratic Party of Arkansas.

Finance Committee
Director: Chris Lash- chris@aypn.org

Chris is originally from southern Illinois where he grew up on a grain farm. He’s been working in real estate over the past eight years, first working with Coldwell Banker in Russellville and eventually moved to Little Rock to where he works for Keller Williams Realty, specializing in residential and residential investments. Chris has been involved with Rotary, as well as various real estate committees, and is a member of the Little Rock Realtors Association.

Social Committee
Director: Miranda Toombs- miranda@aypn.org

Miranda, a central Arkansas native, is Project Manager of custom marketing research for Market Strategies International, formerly Flake-Wilkerson Market Insights. Previously, she was the Market Research Analyst for Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the leading professional community for the global meetings industry. Miranda obtained double bachelor’s degrees of Science in Psychology and Sociology, with an emphasis in Criminology, from the University of Central Arkansas. She’s currently working towards a master’s degree in marketing research. She has participated in numerous charitable events and organizations and enjoys building connections that can help Arkansas businesses capitalize on what the state has to offer.

Marketing & Communications Committee
Director: Charlie Porter- charlie@aypn.org

Charlie is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, where he has recently resettled with his family. He attended The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he graduated with a degree in Advertising and Public Relations. While at The U of A he was an active member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity where he served as Social Chairman and Recruitment Chairman. Charlie also held a spot as a radio DJ on the college station KXUA. Upon graduation, he remained in Fayetteville where he owned a local record store, was a Rotarian with the Downtown Fayetteville club and spent 3 years working for First Security Bank. Charlie now works as a Financial Consultant with Stephens Inc. He is a member of LEADs group with the Little Rock Chamber as well as the Contemporaries with the Arkansas Arts Center.

Community Outreach Committee
Director: Dustin Wilson- dustin@aypn.org

Dustin grew up in Queen City, Texas. He studied business at Louisiana State University and is in the process of earning a graduate degree in Security Management from Bellevue University. Dustin serves in the Louisiana National Guard as a cadre for the Recruit Sustainment Program, and works for Cintas as the Health and Safety Coordinator. He is also a member of Little Rock’s High-Noon Toastmasters.

Economic Development Committee
Director: Shea Mathews- shea@aypn.org

Shea serves as Vice President of Sales & Marketing of National Custom Hollow Metal. He is a graduate of the Bob Schiefer School of Journalism at Texas Christian University with a degree in advertising and public relations. Shea has experience in multiple start ups, new business development and turning ideas into valuable products. Upon graduation from TCU, Shea co-founded Tee Box Marketing and Distribution were he served as Director.

Professional Development Committee
Director: Holden McHaney- holden@aypn.org

Holden is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas. He attended Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri where he graduated with a degree in History. While at Westminster he was an active member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity where he served as President and Recruiting Chairman. Holden also served as business manager for the student newspaper. Upon graduating he began work at The Hathaway Group in the Real Estate Management Department.

Membership Committee
Director: Stoney Rawlins- stoney@aypn.org

Stoney grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He received dual degrees in Finance and Transportation/Logistics from the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas and also studied at both Cambridge University and Oxford University. While at the U of A, Stoney served as student body president and president of his fraternity.

After graduating, Stoney moved to Kansas City to work for Knight Transportation where he managed truck drivers nationally, purchased and serviced freight for national distribution, and was the customer service representative for national accounts. Stoney is now back in Arkansas and works as a political consultant and strategist in Hot Springs and Little Rock.

The Board of Advisors is made up of respected business and community leaders throughout the state who are making a difference in the growth of Arkansas . These professionals serve as guest speakers periodically throughout the year, as well as mentors for AYPN members. The 2007/2008 Board of Advisors are:
