Following the recent earthquake, AYPN in partnership with Sisters to Sister (S2S) carried out a discreet, community-led emergency response in Pyinmana and Nay Pyi Taw. Despite restrictions, we worked with trusted local leaders to identify the most vulnerable and delivered hygiene, dignity, and water kits through safe and confidential channels.
Our teams supported urgent needs until basic services were restored by April 4th. Yet, assessments reveal critical gaps in shelter reconstruction and housing rehabilitation, with many families still displaced and in need of long-term recovery support.
Communities remain in a highly critical state, as ongoing junta airstrikes worsen the humanitarian crisis and threaten survivors already struggling to rebuild.
